Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective
This confession was adopted in 1995 in a joint delegate session of two North American Mennonite denominations, Mennonite Church and General Conference Mennonite Church, which merged in 2002 to form Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Church USA.  (Click here for full text.) Stirling is a member of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada, one of the five regional churches covenanted to form Mennonite Church  Canada.

Households of Faith
Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church is a congregation nurturing households of faith, joyfully responding to God through worship, spirituality, learning the faith, caring relationships and living justly and peacefully. (Click here for full text.) We try to align how we make decisions with what we believe using our Covenant on Congregational Discernment and Decision-making.

Affirming Statement
As followers of Jesus in the Anabaptist Mennonite tradition, we are people of diverse gender identities and sexual orientations. We welcome all to participate in the full life and ministry of our church, including membership, baptism, marriage, congregational leadership, and pastoral ministry. We celebrate and affirm the image of God in all persons as we commit to being a community of hospitality, love and grace.

As part of Stirling’s commitment to be an affirming and welcoming congregation, we are part of this growing network called In This Together, and hope to find ways to support this good work.  If you are interested in learning more, or would like to volunteer with In This Together, please contact: Pieter Niemeyer 905-640-0832 or talk with Josie Winterfield.
