Indigenous/Settler Reconciliation

We acknowledge that our church finds its home on the traditional territory of theNeutral, Anishnawbe and Haudenosaunee peoples.

We acknowledge that our church finds its home on the traditional territory of the

Neutral, Anishnawbe and Haudenosaunee peoples.

As settlers on this land we seek to live in right relationship with our Indigenous  neighbours and Host Peoples, recognizing that we as a Church have not always done this well. As followers of Christ, who taught us the way of peace, we humbly endeavor to learn from our Indigenous neighbours and build relationships marked by peace, friendship and respect as laid out in the Two Row Wampum treaty.

The recent Calls to Action by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada are both gift and challenge to the church (and to the country of Canada).  We are committed to trying to live in to reconciliation through engaging the Calls to Action in whatever ways we are able.
