Moving Toward Consensus on Land Stewardship

Stirling properties currently include 1.1 acres on the corner of Stirling Avenue North and Weber Street East. They consist of the church (including parking lot) and the five adjacent houses. We use the houses for affordable housing – with capacity for about 36 people.

A report to Church Council outlined options for how Stirling could do more with its land. We have had input from a variety of congregants and outside groups. We are now ready to build consensus on a way forward – to embark on the next 100 years of Stirling’s mission in the world.

 A presentation on May 26, 2024 offered a step-wise process for decision-making.

  1. Are we called to develop “something” on the land we occupy?

  2. If yes, what block of land should we develop?

  3. Who should we plan for as tenants?

  4. What is Stirling willing to offer to a partner?

Congregants are encouraged to continue providing input as we move forward. See more information in the Initiatives section of the website.
